maryland, here i come

it's the day, it's the day, it's the day! today is June 18th, a.k.a. the day i go to MD. 

right now, i am on my way to the airport.

my flight is early in the morning & i had to wake up way before a time that i would ever be willing to wake up. however, there is nothing i can do about that. usually when i go to MD, i arrive around midnight (bc i always go in the afternoon on christmas eve) but it's not winter- it's summer & we're supposed to land around noon-ish. we are going to MD for my grandparents' 50th anniversary together so i drew this for them:

i am so excited to see my family (& hopefully my friends) again, even if i just saw them like, 5-6 months ago. i'm ready to get out of my house (more specifically, my room) & stop bumming around watching netflix all day long. 

however, i always have trouble when it comes to packing...

i decided that i would just have to bring clothes that can mix & match easily. hopefully i have everything i need bc it's too late now! i can't wait to be back home in MD & see my family & film new videos w Christy!

Make You Stay | The Girl and the Dreamcatcher

new song & music video!! how exciting!!

for those of you who don't know who the Girl and the Dreamcatcher are, a little background info: Dove Cameron (a.k.a. the Girl) stars in Disney channel's "Liv and Maddie" as both Liv and Maddie, who are twins. Ryan McCartan, the other half of the band (the one in the glasses, playing the guitar), was also in "Liv and Maddie", playing Maddie's love interest. off-screen/ in real life, they dated & are engaged. they started the band, the Girl and the Dreamcatcher, together & have a couple of other songs out, such as "Glowing In The Dark", "Written In The Stars", & "Someone Like You". this song, "Make You Stay" is their newest & highly anticipated single & video. 

the interesting thing is that Luke Benward, the actor that plays Dove's "boyfriend", has worked w Dove before- in Disney's movie Cloud 9, Will (Luke) & Kayla (Dove) are love interests. in this music video, i believe that Luke & Dove are boyfriend/girlfriend & Ryan is the friend that is always there for Dove. the rest is pretty self-explanatory from watching. i think it's incredibly cute & great if you know the background & love them as much as i do. i just love watching Dove & Ryan together- btw they also work together in R.L. Stine's Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls if anyone is interested in seeing more of them! but back to the music video. it's so cute, i would squish its cheeks if it had any. i loved it as much as i've loved all of their other songs & videos. i am happy happy happy.

a little inspiration for someone who inspires me

recently, my friend has been going through hard times & my heart aches for her, so i made these little cards w inspirational messages on them. i want her to remember to "choose to be happy", "believe the best, forgive the rest", & "everything's gonna be super duper". i've always loved making these bc it's fun to do calligraphy/font-related works & use watercolor (for the backgrounds & the arm/hand). hopefully they can remind her that things will get better. watch the time lapse video here:

R.I.P. Christina Grimmie

hey guys. i just wanted to share this quick video i made bc i'm very very upset.



for those of you who haven't heard, Christina Grimmie was shot. for those of you who don't know who she is, she was an inspiration, a funny, amazing, caring, & talented singer. she was a youtube sensation & 3rd place on the Voice, season 6.
in the video, i've already said what i could put into words. her death has left me in shock & i just.. can't. it's truly a shame that so many people hadn't gotten the chance to hear about her other than through her death. it's a shame that she was only 22, that she was having the time of her life performing for her fans, that she was signing autographs, when she was shot. someone got through security w two guns & a knife (i think) & they shot her. other people might have been in danger too, if Christina's brother had not tackled the shooter. obviously it is a relief that no one else got injured, but it's devastating that Christina was, & died bc of it. her silliness, her smiling face, her charm, her shining & outgoing personality, all of these things are what made her fans love her for more than just her amazing voice. of course, i have to emphasize just how TALENTED & amazing she was, but anyways. she loved her fans, Team Grimmie, so much & i am so proud to have been part of Team Grimmie. Christina Grimmie absolutely rawwks.
